RYA Dingy Show 2023 Part 2 - Sails & Equipment
Plenty of equipment on view at the Boat Show, though not many sailmakers that I could see. Of the top 3 or 4 at the Solo Nationals, there didn't seem to be a North, HD or Hyde stand, though their sails were dotted around the various boats on display. The Solo stand had one boat with an HD sail:
and I did see a sign saying all P&B sails 15% off at the show, but the P&B stand seemed to be selling clothing and chandlery mostly:
Morgan sails were there with their own stand:
I know this isn't relevant to Solos, but I thought Hartley Boats (who had a huge stand at the show) got their sails made by Jeckells, but I spotted a couple of signs suggesting otherwise:
I love a Clamcleat and there was plenty in the chandlers and at the Clamcleat stand:
and the big fittings manufacturers Harken, Ronstan, Seasure and Allen all had stands:
but I think the place I spent the most money was Sailing Chandlery - although the woman next to me thought I had a weird rope fetish (she is not wrong, I suspect):
I mean - who could resist?
I did pop in to see the Rooster stand as always - it does tend to be mostly clothing these days though:
More in part 3... ⛵
